Nomenclature G.O. Sars (1894, p. 596) changed the name to P. pusillus "to avoid confusion with Ischyrocerus minutus Lilljeb., in case the latter genus should not be accepted.. . ." Although G.O. Sars was not justified in doing this, the name Podocerus minutus has not been used since Sars (1894), and therefore I will propose to The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature that minutus be considered a "nomen oblitum ."
