Moderately solid shell, up to 7 cm, with pear-shaped body whorl. Exterior white with spiral bands of brown blotches, interior white or tinted with violet, brown or yellow. Habitat: abundant on clean sand and in sandy patches on reef flats and deeper. Distribution: Indo-Pacific. Regional names: Kis. Nyuwali, Choale, Chuwale mchanga, Chuwali kitchi; Port. Estrombo vulgar; MCr. Ti poul. (Richmond, 1997). [details]
