The type locality is the North Atlantic, west of the Azores [36°17’N 28°53’W], Princesse-Alice II stn. 1849 (ovig. female), 0–3000 m, 8 September 1904 and stn. 1851 (four females), same data. The specimen (6 mm) from stn. 1849 is illustrated by Chevreux (1905). [details]
