Taxonomy The genus Gastrothuria was erected by Perrier 1899 for the species limbata.
The full description of the genus and species is in the work of Perrier
1902 (Expedition of the Travailleur and Talisman). According to the drawing
of the ossicles G. limbata is obviouly a stichopodid. It is referred (gray
literature) toParastichopus regalis a well known stichopodid from the
north Atlantic coast. Perrier (1902) recognised that the ossicles of G.
Limbata
present many affinities with Parastichopus tremulus, a species very
close to P. regalis[details]
