Authority The Systema Porifera chapter on Hemiasterellidae (Hooper, 2002) quotes Montagu (1818= 1814) as the author of this species. However, the combination was already used by Ellis & Solander (1786). Montagu also refers to this work, so we must accept Ellis & Solander, 1786 as the authors.
