Taxonomy In Sally Kaicher's card catalogue, this species is depicted (Card #: EP1-2367) as Epitonium perangustum (de Boury, 1913) "= angustum Dunker, 1861 non Deshayes, 1861" whereas precisely perangustum is a replacement name for the Paris Basin Eocene species Scalaria angusta Deshayes, 1861 [November] non Dunker, 1861 [before August]. This confusion is behind any usage of the name perangustum for a Recent Pacific species e.g. Weil et al. (1999: 122) [details]
