Etymology The specific epithet parturiens is the Latin word for 'giving birth' or 'childbirth', and refers to the viviparous reproduction of the species. [details]
Habitat Unknown. [details]
Reproduction Viviparous. The holotype presented two advanced embryos inside the body, one in the 14th and the other in the 15th segment (Haswell, 1920: 98). The same author described a single ovum on either side of the 12th and 13th segments, and commented that in spite of being probable that the species was hermaphrodite, and that testes should be present in most of the segments, the specimen did not enable conclusive evidences of this.
