Synonymy Hartman (1959:408) lists a Heterocirrus Saint-Joseph, 1894 as distinct from Heterocirrus Grube, 1855. This is confusing as Saint-Joseph was using Grube's genus. Hartman's grouping is presumably intending to indicate a change of concept post Saint-Joseph's emendation (these are Tharyx-like species according to her, although in detail she places the taxa in several genera), whereas she refers Grube's Heterocirrus saxicola to Dodecaceria. As H. saxicola is accepted as a Dodecaceria then Heterocirrus belongs in Dodecaceria as a junior synonym . It is immaterial for synonymy of the genera what Saint-Joseph did in emendation (ie as Heterocirrus sensu Saint-Joseph), as the synonymy is fixed by the assignment of the type species, although it may be material to taxonomic history of usages for species.
