Editor's comment Status change is pending for Diopatra uncinifera. Hannelore Paxton (unpublished, pers. com.) has examined the holotype of Diopatra uncinifera Quatrefages, 1866 at the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris (MNHP) and found it to be an anteriorly regenerated specimen of D. amboinensis Aud. & M.E. 1833. Quatrefages (1866:342) remarked already in the description that it was from Ambon, very similar to D.amboinensis, and collected by the same naturalists. However, the "two strong and long hooks being part of the anterior fascicles" (subacicular hooks of the more posterior region placed into an anterior position due to the very short regenerated anterior part, indicated "some differences in the feet" to him.
