Etymology authors: Microspio lydonia "species name refers to Lydonia Canyon, where much of the material was collected [by R/V Oceanus, in 1981]. The canyon itself was named for NOAA’s Coast and Geodetic Survey vessel, the Lydonia, one of the four ships that conducted surveys of the area between the years 1930 and 1932. [details]
