Taxonomic remark Jackson (1952, p. 34) explains that Kraussia (later Kraussina) deshayesii was described by Davidson (1852) as a replacement name for K. capensis (Adams & Reeve, 1850), as there was already a K. capensis (Gmelin) (now a synonym of K. rubra Pallas). However, given the synonymy of K. capensis (Gmelin), there is no reason to replace the name K. capensis (Adams & Reeve, 1850). [details]
