Taxonomy Incertae sedis. No material has been recovered, and the description of Duchassaing & Michelotti (p. 29) of a ramose sponge does not match the figured semiglobular specimen (pl. III figs 1 and 2). In a later paper (Duchassaing, 1870) these figures were assigned to Spongia (=Amphimedon) complanata, one of the other species described by Duch. & Mich. [details]
