Nomenclature This name is NOT available as Say never even proposed it as a provisional name. His text makes it clear he had changed his mind and not named it. So this name has no nomenclatural significance, regardless of its historical value. Although placed in the Ocypode section, he expressly states that it is a species of Uca. "In manuscript I had named it Citharoedicus, but averse from an unnecessary multiplication of names, I have adopted the above, notwithstanding the objection stated. It belongs to the Genus Uca of Dr. Leach." [details]
