Etymology "The species name refers to Galadriel – ‘Lady’ of Lothlórien, one of the greatest of the elves in Middle-Earth, and a character in J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” and “Silmarillion”. Galadriel helped the Fellowship of the Ring significantly in achieving their goals, hosting them after their escape from the mines of Moria and giving each member a valuable gift for their onward journey."
