Bathydevius caudactylus Robison & Haddock, 2024
Description Using an innovative low-light camera system developed at MBARI, researchers were able to film the bioluminescence display of the mystery mollusc (Bathydevius caudactylus) in the wild using MBARI’s remotely operated vehicle (ROV) Doc Ricketts. MBARI researchers believe the brilliant light show of the mystery mollusc may help deter potential predators.
