Taxonomy Mediterranean representatives assigned to H. (H.) paupertas (as Anchinoe) have been described as thick red crusts, whereas the the North Atlantic specimens are thin and blue. Vacelet & Perez (2008) distinguished Mediterranean specimens as a separate species, Phorbas topsenti. [details]
