Homonymy This is a junior homonym of Spongia stuposa Ellis & Solander, 1786, now accepted as Stelligera stuposa. However, since both are primary homonyms, the present situation violates art. 57.2 of the Code of Zoological Nomenclature (the junior homonym is permanently invalid). This means that the species Ulosa stuposa needs to be renamed. The next available junior synonym is Chalina digitata Schmidt, 1866, which is accepted as Uosa digitata (cf. Van Soest et al. 2020). [details]
