Spelling Mandatory gender agreement requires a spelling of the adjectival compound word as 'heterochaeta' rather than 'heterochaetus' to agree with feminine genus Phylo. There are numerous compound species names based on chaeta, and an example masculine to feminine recombination change in Polychaeta is 'Cirratulus anchylochaetus Schmarda, 1861 accepted as Timarete anchylochaeta (Schmarda,1861). An example in the other direction is the annelid Perichaeta heterochaeta Michaelsen, 1891 accepted as Amynthas heterochaetus (Michaelsen, 1891). Note that here the original genus based on 'chaeta' was feminine. [details]
