Etymology Not stated, but H. bulbosus is evidently named for the bulbous (Latin bulbosus -a –um) dorsal verticil spine. [details]Spelling The spelling 'bulbosus' was correct in 1990, but an ICZN code change in 1999 made Hydroides feminine, thus 'bulbosa' is required. [details]
