Nomenclature Jazdzewski K. (1990): The nomenclature of Tiron species is disordered. The gender of this genus is masculine (Liljeborg 1865). Therefore, the proper endings of adjectives are "-us" and not "-um" or "-a." According to the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (1961: art. 30 on the agreement in gender) one should amend the following names of species of Tiron:
biocellata to biocellatus
intermedia to intermedius
