Diagnosis First three chaetigers not fused; buccal apparatus with a pair of short, strong and acutely pointed tentacles, together with ungrouped slender oral tentacles; notopodia on chaetigers 5 to about 15 (except for chaetiger 7) bearing dorsal digitiform lobe; notochaetae consisting of one long and one short group of chaetae; uncini starting on chaetigers 15–20; Currently only known from northwest Indian Ocean vents.  [details]
