Taxonomy Comment by Nogueira (2008:219): "No other species of Amphitrite, including Neoamphitrite, have any of these characters and the diagnosis of the genus provided by other authors (e.g., Hutchings and Glasby 1988, among others) does not allow for such an arrangement of branchiae and so many pairs of notopodia. However, this species has always been referred to Amphitrite,and is kept there at present." [details]
